As reported by 6PR in recent months, youth crime has reportedly “skyrocketed” at Carousel Shopping Centre, with retailers now falling prey to raids form gangs of children as young as eight-years-old on a regular basis.

City of Canning Mayor Patrick Hall told Millsy and Karl on 6PR Breakfast he would be meeting with Carousel managers to see what could be done.

Press PLAY to hear more about youth crime rates in WA shopping centres

“This is an issue that’s happening right across WA in all shopping centres; it’s endemic to all of them, unfortunately,” Mr Hall said.

“If there are eight-year-olds involved, where are they? These are the issues we’re trying to deal with.”
