More horror stories have emerged about the impact disastrous ambulance ramping is having on West Australians across the state.

6PR Mornings host Liam Bartlett said dire results were always likely when “the system has been broken that badly, for that long”.

His comments come after a woman’s death from a heart attack while waiting for 3.5 hours at Busselton Health Campus while she was ramped recently, while a new development emerged from a staff email seen by 6PR Breakfast on Tuesday, about St John’s Ambulance paramedics who couldn’t respond to an emergency situation in Geraldton due to an overtime issue.

“These stories will only increase, the near misses and disasters will only increase if this is not fixed,” Bartlett said on Tuesday.

“Here’s the thing, amid this mess, the chief executive of St John’s (Michelle Fyfe) has chosen to send her staff an email in which she says St John will not engage in a ‘trial by media’, that’s how she describes it.”
