Christian Porter says he understands why WA Govt is trying to combat Palmer

The Federal Attorney General says he can understand why the WA Government felt compelled to take action against Clive Palmer’s attempts to sue the state for more than $30 billion.

Last week parliament passed emergency legislation to amend an agreement with the mining magnate’s Mineralogy company effectively blocking Mr Palmer from seeking damages against the state.

He’s since filed an application in the Federal Court to have the legislation withdrawn.

Christian Porter told Gareth Parker on Mornings says it’s difficult to predict what will happen.
