City council rejects claims of homeless car-living crackdown
City of Stirling Mayor Mark Irwin has rejected claims the council is cracking down on homeless people sleeping in cars, calling the accusation “ridiculous”.
Mr Irwin said the entire point of the exercise had been taken out of context.

“I’m really disappointed in The West Australian, actually, because they asked for the information on this one,” Mr Irwin said.
“This is actually about moving on some campers who are there for weeks on end; no fines are issued, and there’s certeinly nothing linked to homelessness in this story.”
