Mark Irwin, Mayor of the City of Stirling has announced the launch of the Stirling Fast-Track service that promises to speed up small scale residential development applications through an online assessment process.

“Essentially it is an online tool that will be able to do something that I always thought local governments should be doing, less of the compliance side and more a facilitator in ensuring developments happen quickly where they should,” Mr Irwin told Simon Beaumont on Perth Live.

“What you hear local governments talk about is the 90 day process and what we’re saying is, if there is a simpler process and people understand and do some of the hard lifting themselves early on, then we guarantee we will approve those within 28 days.”
