Cleo Smith detective, Seven West journalist linked in CCC inquiry on alleged misconduct
The detective at the centre of the dramatic Cleo Smith rescue in Carnarvon last November has been stood down pending a Corruption and Crime Commission inquiry.
Prominent homicide detective Cameron Blaine was stood down by police amid an ongoing investigation into “alleged misconduct”, which is understood to also involve a journalist from Seven West Media, publishers of The West Australian.
Business News political editor Gary Adshead told Liam Bartlett on 6PR Mornings that he understood the CCC have moved to also seize his phone and other items that he may have as part of the inquiry.
“As I understand the inquiry also involves a journalist at Seven West Media,” Adshead said.
