Col Blanch says efforts are underway to give cops the right conditions

WA police could soon have more flexible working arrangements as executives try to prevent officers from leaving the force.
A record number of police either retired or resigned in 2022, as continual disputes occur between the WA Government and the police union over pay and poor work conditions.
WA Police Commissioner Col Blanch, told Gary Adshead on 6PR Mornings that he’s listening to what his officers are telling him.
“I can’t deny that it is not unique to Western Australia – which is one of the reasons why we have gone to the UK to seek greater recruitment numbers – so we are doing everything we can not only to retain police officers but get new ones,” Mr Blanch said.
