Comedian of the Year Joe Avati on walking the fine comedy line
In Joe Avati’s hilarious show When I Was Your Age, he asks you to leave your political correctness at the door – but that doesn’t mean he’s here to offend anyone.
Famed for his edgy, ethnic humour, Avati is bringing his tour to Perth after multiple sellout show in the Eastern States, and told Millsy and Karl onĀ 6PR Breakfast as long as you’re not trying to take offence, there’s plenty of laughs to share.

“When you come to a comedy show, it’s like being hooked up to a lie detector; when you laugh, what that says subconsciously is that you agree with what you’ve just heard,” Mr Avati said.
“So I’ll say something like, ‘You can’t tell me that when you’re driving and some idiot cuts you off, you don’t play the game where you guess where they’re from’. You can walk that line without walking the line.”
Joe performs one show in Perth tomorrow night: go to Ticketmaster for tickets.
