A ram raid in Maddington has resulted in substantial damage to a local parish building overnight.

Police are interviewing a 29-year-old man after he allegedly drove through the front of the Blood of Salvation Ministry Church.

A BMW was located nearby in Attfield Street around 1.45am with the man asleep inside.

9 News Perth reporter Zarisha Bradley told Gareth Parker on 6PR Breakfast “complete chaos unfolded”.

“The entire glass front was shattered,” she said.
