‘Contemptuous’: Government’s live export plan met with dismay
The Federal Government has put a timeline on the phasing out of live sheep export in 2028, and amongst the heavily mixed reactions are dire warnings from Liberal and National members of the disastrous effects to come.
Gary Adshead spoke to Nationals Leader David Littleproud on 6PR Mornings, who criticized both the time frame and the handling of the plan.

“Let me tell you: there will be needless deaths of sheep around the world because of this decision,” he said.
“The reality is, yes they were always going to put a date, but a date that is so short and narrow… is contemptuous.”
In response, Federal Agriculture Minister Murray Watt, who announced the timeline in Perth on Saturday, told Gary Adshead David Littleproud was actually the one who was out-of-touch with voters.
