A decision by the Reserve Bank to remove the Queen from the $5 note and replace it with an image representing First Nations people has sparked debate.

Eric Abetz, from the Australian Monarchist League, was met with some resistance from the 6PR Breakfast hosts, Millsy and Karl, when he argued for the necessity of keeping the tradition of the Sovereign on the $5 note.

“To try to do it in this underhanded way is completely unacceptable,” he said.
