The WA Labor Government have thrown their support behind the 2023 Royal Show, backing a discounted ticket program to the tune of $1.9 million.

The backing will ensure the Royal Agricultural Society of WA will allow a family of four to attend for $60, while LotteryWest will provide a program to help those from disadvantaged backgrounds attend.

Royal Agriculture Society of WA CEO Robyn Sermon spoke with Oly Peterson on 6PR’s Perth Live.

“We’ve worked really hard and with the State Government’s support to keep that entry-level low, its actually 15 dollars cheaper than it was in 2016,” she said.

6PR reporter Anne Barclay was lucky enough to attend the launch of the event, and told Gary on 6PR Mornings there will be plenty of rides, food, animals and showbags as expected from WA’s biggest agricultural event.

“I got to see some fluffy animals; there were chickens, sheepdogs, all sorts. The Premier got presented with abig toy llama that he didn’t seem to enthused about,” Ms Naylor said.
