Copper to be regulated like gold & silver to stop thefts in WA
The State Government wants to prevent copper theft by regulating the metal.
In a similar process to the selling of gold and silver, the proposed amendments will ensure copper sellers will need to produce identification and licensed dealers will need to record all transactions and report details to police.
Executive Director of the Master Builders Association WA John Gelavis told Gareth Parker on Mornings stolen copper is a big issue.
