‘Could be life-threatening’: Expert urges expecting mothers to stay away from unregulated ultrasound services

Leading health experts are urging Australians to stay away from unregulated ultrasound services, warning that in some cases they could have deadly consequences.
Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists president-elect Nisha Khot says expecting parents aren’t being told if the providers are unlicensed.
“Women have scans which don’t pick up abnormalities because they’re not done by the appropriately qualified people, which means treatment is delayed … this could be life-threatening,” she told Simon Beaumort.
