Councillor calls for curfew on eScooter trial after ‘crazy’ behaviour
A local councillor is calling for tighter restrictions on the City of Stirling eScooter trial, prioritising e-rideables so that riders can only use them outside the hours of 10pm and 5pm.
Peter Fuhrman, a local resident in the area of Stirling, told Gareth Parker on 6PR Breakfast that the council didn’t consult the community at all in the making of the Neuron eScooter trial.
Peter thinks that a curfew from 10pm to 5pm would address the issues that the trial seems to be creating.
“(For) the residents living along the coast, we’ve had nighttime disruption, noise, antisocial behaviour, we’ve got people coming from nightclubs and the hotels in Hillarys they jump on a scooter, they’ve just gone crazy,” he explained.
“Adelaide’s brought in a nighttime curfew and that we just think that if the council had talked to the people and said ‘what do you think,’ they could have addressed all these issues.”
