With summer well underway, water safety has never been more important.

Yet despite advocation for water safety, there has been a rise in drownings in Western Australia.

Royal Life Saving national manager of strategic communications Belinda Lawton told 6PR Breakfast people need to keep themselves safe.

“This is the deadliest week of the year,” said Ms Lawton.
