COVID case numbers in WA surge past predicted 10,000 peak

WA has registered another record number of COVID cases for the second straight day, with hospitalisations from the virus up significantly.
6PR Mornings host Liam Bartlett said the record figure is significant given the easing of WA’s mask mandate last Friday.
“That’s also interesting because it’s passed the predicted peak figure,” Bartlett said of the Omicron peak derived from government modelling that dictated the state’s strict COVID regulations of the past few months.
