Cricket legends dismiss English ‘whinging’ at the Ashes
Author and Australian cricket royalty Roland Perry has weighed in on the Ashes controversy, defending Australian wicketkeeper Alex Carey and pooh-poohing England’s antics.
Mr Perry told Gary Adshead on 6PR Mornings the English team had no right to react the way they did to a completely acceptable dismissal.
“He did what every keeper worth his salt would do in any level of the game,” Mr Perry said.
“He threw down the wicket because Bairstow was stupid enough to step out of his crease.”

Former test cricket player and WA legend Tom Moody told Gary Adshead the atmosphere in front of the Long Room was decidedly different to what he had experienced.
“Normally, you can hear a pin drop,” Mr Moody said.
“It’s the complete opposite to what I witnessed last night as everyone did on television where there was all that yelling and screaming.”
