Cyber expert claims employment scam is part of a ‘scamdemic’
Employment scams have cost Australians $37 million in less than two years.
Alastair MacGibbon, Chief Strategy Officer at CyberCX, told 6PR’s Chrissy Morrissy that Meta “do very little to stop scammers” and went on to suggest that Meta is profiting from the fraud.
“These are some of the smartest people in the world making billions of dollars through user behaviour, and yet they aren’t using that same intellect to stop badness occurring on their platforms and sites. The only reason for that is they face no consequences and make money from the process,” he said.
