Iconic Australian television executive Brian Walsh has passed away at the age of 68, leaving the industry reeling.

Walsh made a lasting effect on Australian television for many years, and is credited with launching the careers of Kylie Minogue, High Jackman and Nicole Kidman.

Entertainment guru Peter Ford said the executive was instrumental in aiding the careers of many in entertainment, including his own.
