It’s “early days” in assessing just how much damage Cyclone Ilsa has caused, according to the Department of Fire and Emergency Services.

DFES Commissioner Darren Klem told Millsy and Karl on 6PR Breakfast the cyclone was losing speed as it continued to move inland and was approaching the Western Australia-Northern Territory border.

“There’s plenty of rainfall to come and obviously we will deal with any flooding issues over the next couple of days, but fingers crossed with the way it’s going at the moment, the trend will continue,” Mr Klem said.
