The Department of Fire and Emergency Services is asking the community to prepare their properties now, with warm and dry conditions increasing the risk of an early start to the southern bushfire season.

DFES, Chief Superintendent of Metropolitan Operations Peter Sutton spoke with Julie-anne Sprague on Afternoons and said the southern half of WA is dryer than usual at this time of year,

“It means we’ll see an early start to the southern bushfire season, and it’s just really important that people actually take note of this because now’s the time to start doing that preparatory work. Landowners and businesses should really start looking at conducting any planned burns in the next two months.”
