Dockers in disguise? Luke Ryan on Freo’s secret meeting with Luke Jackson

All-Australian Fremantle defender Luke Ryan says a tight 2022 season means every game is pivotal, including his 100th this Sunday against Port Adelaide at Optus Stadium.
The 26-year-old also told 6PR Breakfast in his regular Thursday segment he was unsure about a meeting Dockers coach Justin Longmuir and football boss Peter Bell had with young Melbourne premiership ruckman Luke Jackson, a WA product with a soft spot for Fremantle who is out of contract at season’s end.
“It’s the first time I’ve heard of it, he’d be pretty handy, he’s going to be a very good player. I know he’s from WA and he’s a Fremantle boy,” Ryan told host Mark Gibson, in for Gareth Parker.
He said the season was shaping as a thrilling prospect for fans of most clubs, with each round now pivotal to top 8 positions.
“It’s one of those years, it’s real close… if we lose this week we could go to 8th, if we win we’re 2nd… it’s really good for footy,” he said.
