The Department of Transport has backflipped on its decision to close its Joondalup Driver and Vehicle Services Centre, announcing today it will reopen the site as a dedicated centre for driving assessments later this year.

Assistant Minister for Transport David Michael spoke with Oliver Peterson on 6PR’s Perth Live and the reopening of the centre will provide relief to learners struggling to find a PDA.

“We’re going to recruit an extra 24 driver assessors over the next 6 months who’ll be based just at Joondalup to take a lot of pressure out of the system.”
