UPDATE: Residents ‘lucky to escape’ as Northern Suburbs blaze continues to threaten lives
A bushfire is raging on in Perth’s northern suburbs, with unconfirmed reports of homes lost.
A bushfire emergency warning is in place parts of Banksia Grove, Jandabup, Mariginiup, Melaleuca, Sinagra, Tapping and Wanneroo.
6PR and Nine News reporter Rachel Clifford told Millsy and Karl a lot of residents are trying to work out whether they will stay or go.
“We spoke to a family who had a really sleepless night; they have their cars packed and ready to go for whenever they need to,” Ms Clifford said.

DFES Metro Operations Chief Superintendant Dave Gill said the fight to control the fire has taken a toll on emergence services, who remain committed to protecting people and property.
“We’re entering our second day now and the last 24 hours has been very busy; we urge all residents to continue checking Emergency WA for updates,” Mr Gill said.
Tapping resident Kyle Rayner was forced to evacuate his property last night, and told Millsy and Karl he considered himself lucky to be able to escape.
“It was pretty intense; a lot of smoke, a lot of ash but we were lucky our place survived, not like a lot of others,” Mr Rayner said.
