WA Formula 1 star Daniel Ricciardo has been recruited by the state government to drive its latest tourism campaign.

The F1 star and his best mate Blake embarked on a road trip from Perth to Exmouth earlier this year, which will now form a 12 month campaign to attract international and interstate visitors.

It’s hoped the popular west Aussie will help put WA’s tourism industry in pole position to build on the record 16.8 billion dollars spent by tourists last financial year.

Tourism Minister Rita Saffioti told Gary Adshead it provides an opportunity to spread the word on WA to those who might not normally hear about it.
