The City of Stirling is taking a strong stance against wayward trolleys, placing the responsibility back on the retail outlets.

Mayor Mark Irwin explained to 6PR Perth Live host Oliver Peterson that the city will put pressure on retail outlets by reducing collection times and significantly increasing fines to incentivise retailers to manage their trolleys better.

“It’s clutter that we don’t need, and someone has to be responsible. The obvious people to be responsible are the owners of the trolleys,” he said.
