It was an arm wrestle in the final quarter with the Eagles 4 points ahead with just minutes remaining. Bulldogs Captain Marcus Bontempelli with the all important goal from 55 out.
The Dogs now sit level with GWS on 32 points, and will need percentage-boosting wins against Hawthorn and Fremantle if they’re to be a chance play finals.
As for the Eagles their top four chances have taken a hit but with games to come against St Kilda and North Melbourne hope does remain.
On the injury front, the Eagles have a number of fresh concerns. Mark Hutchings was unable to finish the game due to a hamstring injury while Jeremy McGovern appeared to hurt his previously broken thumb.

We are holding up okay except for a few injuries here and there. We will move on very quickly to face the Saints.”
