Early education around drug use crucial amid Bailey Smith AFL ban
Bailey Smith will face AFL officials on Tuesday after photos and videos emerged of him using illicit drugs.
Western Bulldogs coach Luke Beveridge hit out at the AFL’s illicit drugs policy as the 21-year-old midfielder waits to learn his fate.
Smith says he turned to partying during the off-season as he battled mental health issues.
Todd Morgan, Outside the Locker Room CEO, told Gareth Parker on 6PR Breakfast that there needs to be more education on drugs and alcohol.
“Most people are faced with this every weekend,” Mr Morgan explained.
“It’s in their face, and the education throughout our schooling system is usually not there,
“The big thing for us is to try and explain to these young kids that it is alright to say no.”
