Eight year-old ‘forced to crawl’ due to NDIS wheelchair refusal
An eight year-old with a rare, cerebral-palsy like genetic disorder is having to “pull himself up on furniture” and crawl on the ground after being refused a wheelchair.
Carol Wilson told Gary Adshead on 6pr Mornings her daughter has had to apply to the Administrative Appeals Tribunal after her grandson was rejected by the NDIS twice.
“He needs an awful lot of therapy… he can’t stand unaided so he definitely needs a wheelchair,” Ms Wilson said.

Former NDIA official Hassan Noura said the issue was likely due to an “administrative mistake”, and that the NDIS was created specifically to help people like Ms Wilson’s grandson.
