English fold in on themselves in strange day at the Ashes
As Kevin Pietersen lamented, “are you joking?”
In a day that saw protesters throwing orange dust and Johnny Bairstow carrying another invader off the ground, the English didn’t put up a strong enough attack as Australia earned 339 runs against five wickets on the first day of the Lord’s Ashes test.
6PR sports reporter Paddy Sweeney told Karl ands Gena onĀ 6PR Breakfast it was a typical showing from Australia’s well-prepared players.
“Australia were well and truly on top, and the Englishman had those perfect conditions but didn’t make the most of them,” Mr Sweeney said.
