A new trial will encourage teachers to move to the regions in principal roles while maintaining their current positions.

Bevan Ripp, President of the Principals Federation of WA, spoke to 6PR Afternoons host Julie-Anne Sprague about the dire shortage of principals and senior teachers in these regions.

“A real problem in attracting people into the teaching profession, for a start, and then once we’ve got people in the job, attracting them to a principal’s position is becoming more problematic,” he said.
