Youth suicide prevention advocate Gerry Georgatos labels the $120,000 funding for an art project at the Banksia Hill facility a misspend.

Mr Georgatos explains to Perth Today host Simon Beaumont that the facility is seriously lacking and that the money could have a real impact on its services.

“$120,000 is an obscene amount of money for a mural, a piece of artwork, especially in an environment where there is a lot of penny-pinching, and we can’t get the rehabilitative, life-transformative, therapeutic supports that we beg for forever and a day,” he said.
