Tech experts are pushing for artificial intelligence laboratories to cease training AI systems due to concerns about the risk they pose to society and humanity.

 UNSW Professor of Artificial Intelligence Toby Walsh told 6PR Afternoons people should focus on the risks of AI systems already available.

“I don’t think a lesser calling to stop doing AI research is going to have any impact,” said Professor Walsh.

“Banning it is not the answer.”
