There are concerns child influencers dubbed “kidfluencers” are being exploited due to a lack of industry regulation.

Edith Cowan University researcher Dr Catherine Archer told Oliver Peterson on Perth Live it’s a worldwide phenomenon.

“There are certainly some concerns around some of the aspects of children and social media influencers, there is very little regulation of the industry,” said Dr Archer.

“There’s children as young as one or two who are promoting high-end brands… managed by their parents.”
