A family who settled in Australia eight years ago from the UK are now facing deportation after finding out they were “too old” to apply for permanent residency.

Glenn and Sheena Tunnicliff – 57 and 50 years old respectively – have aged out of the availability for continued residency and citizenship, which cuts off at 45.

Mr  Tunnicliff told Millsy and Karl on 6PR Breakfast they wanted to continue his life with other family members who came to Australia in the 1960s, but those plans were now in jeopardy.

“We’ve kind of slipped through the crack, and now we’ve been shown the door,” Mr Tunnicliff said.
