Farmers up in arms over Indonesia’s live export disease claims

Indonesia has raised concerns despite adamant statements from the National Farmer’s Federation and the Department of Agriculture the disease does not exist in Australia.

NFF WA Livestock Section Executive Geoff Pearson told Millsy and Karl onĀ 6PR Breakfast the claims were concerning but the Australian industry was committed to protecting exports and the wellbeing of cattle.
“[The disease] could have been contracted post-arrival in Indonesia, where it is quite prevalent,” Mr Pearson said.
