Fighting for Ocean: mother’s battle to keep the joy in son’s life
As a single mother of a nine-year-old with Cerebral Palsy and epilepsy, Robyn Ravell has little to no time to do much outside caring for her “brave, inspiring” son, especially considering their NDIS allowance isn’t enough to employ a carer.
Despite that, they are finding themselves potentially homeless as their current home is set to be demolished.

Ms Ravell told Gary Adshead on 6PR Mornings because of her son’s health issues they need to remain close to Perth Children’s Hospital, a necessity that’s becoming more difficult under current housing pressure.
“He just brings so much joy into everyone’s life, despite what he’s going through, but we need help; I don’t know what to do,” Ms Ravell said.
