The Finance Minister, Senator Simon Birmingham, has told Gareth Parker that WA will benefit greatly from the 2022 Budget.

The Federal government’s fourth financial blueprint includes almost a 3-billion dollar boost to the take-up and completion of apprenticeships.

Small businesses have also been given extra help to train existing staff and implement digital systems.

WA has received the second-highest share in infrastructure spending out of all states and territories in the government’s pre-election budget.

Senator Birmingham told Gareth Parker on 6PR Breakfast that WA will benefit from billions in infrastructure and renewables.

“We certainly are proud of being good friends for West Australians,” he said.

“Ours is the government that has delivered a fairer share of the GST that has seen WA receive an estimated 5.9 billion dollars of GST payments this year that’s a more than 10 per cent increase, a more than $500 million increase on last year.”

Press PLAY to hear Gareth Parker’s wrap up of the budget and the Finance Minister in what’s planned for WA’s role in the economy.
