There are still about 300,000 species of life waiting to be discovered in Australia, according to scientists.

CSIRO Entomologist Dr Bryan Lessard told Millsy and Karl on 6PR Breakfast the fact that 150,000 Australian species aren’t found anywhere else in the world makes Australia – and particularly WA – a hot bed for new species discoveries.

“Scientists have named only 30 per cent of all the species, so every day we’re finding new ones,” Dr Lessard said.
