Free the shops? Airport Woolies extends trading hours due to demand
Due to high demand, Perth Airport Woolworths will extend its Sunday shopping hours, raising the question of whether Perth’s restrictive trading hours should be deregulated.
Built on Commonwealth-owned land the supermarket is exempt from the state’s trading regulations.
Chamber of Commerce and Industry WA Chief Economist Aaron Morey told Oly Peterson on 6PR’s Perth Live that there is a strong case to relax Western Australia’s trading laws, which have fallen behind those of other Australian states.
