Former Minister for Foreign Affairs and Deputy Liberal Leader Julie Bishop has found a new lease of life via social media, but not everyone is comfortable with the situation.

Ms Bishop has reportedly received an influencer-like amount of freebies in her new role as online influencer, including a stay at a $2,800-a-night New York hotel.

Entertainment reporter Peter Ford told Millsy and Karl on 6PR Breakfast he felt “very uncomfortable” with the growing trend of media influencers such as Ms Bishop advertising businesses online for loot.

“I think its tacky, and I’m less tolerant when it’s someone like Julie Bishop who’s obviously not penniless,” Mr Ford said.

Peter Ford also discussed the list of luminaries set to attend Kyle Sandilands’ $2 million wedding.
