Game-changing COVID-19 test on its way to Australia
A COVID-19 test that has a 20 second turnaround is on its way to Australia.
And it has an apparent 99.8 per cent accuracy rate.
The test called “Virolens” has been on trial at London’s Heathrow Airport. Australian company, KeyOptions, has secured the rights to bring the testing units to Australia.
Group Chief Revenue Officer Gavin Milton-White gave Oliver Peterson an insight into how it will work via a simple saliva swab.
“We’re currently going through the TGA approval process.
“We hope that with other similar bodies around the world going through simultaneous approvals, we’ll be able to fast-track that and get this ready for November.”
The test does not need to be administered by healthcare professionals and is portable and repeatable, with each machine capable of carrying out many hundreds of tests per day.
