Freo record big score to start the season
Fremantle has recorded their highest score at Optus Stadium and claimed a 82 point win over North Melbourne in the opening round of the 2019 AFL season.
Cam McCarthy was on fire for Fremantle kicking five goals for the home side, with new-comer Rory Lobb and debutant Lachie Shultz kicking a couple each to add to Fremantle’s 21.15 (141) to 9.5 (59) scoreline.

North Melbourne’s Ben Brown was kept to only two goals, and didn’t take a mark, with Dockers’ defender Alex Pearce working hard to shut him down.

Nat Fyfe fought on for 32 disposals, despite a knock to his injured right elbow that required surgery only weeks ago.

“I think their skills were outstanding today, they really hurt us in the turnover, they really pressured well which forced the turnovers and then they capitalised with their skills,” Jack Ziebell told 6PR.
