Hollywood actor and Game of Thrones star Peter Dinklage has accused Disney of double standards over its planned remake of 1937’s Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs.

Dinklage, who has achondroplasia, a type of dwarfism, pointed at the hypocrisy of the filmmakers, who said they were “very proud to cast a Latina actress as Snow White”.

“You’re progressive in one way, but then you’re still making that f***ing backwards story about seven dwarfs living in a cave together, what the f**k are you doing, man?” the New York Post reported the prominent actor as saying.

Short Statured People of Australia president Sam Millard said the film should go ahead if Disney only put a different spin on the story.

“If they are going to humanise the characters … that people can relate to, then I think it’s something to consider,” he told Liam Bartlett on 6PR Mornings.
