The Dan Andrews Government might end up having to spend just as much money in their sudden dumping of the Commonwealth Games than it would have cost, if not more.

Until the full details are released it will be difficult to tell how much money will have to be spent to recover from the cancellation, but experts are warning they might be on the line for recouping costs.

Monash Business School Deputy Dean of Education Professor Robert Brooks told Gary Adshead onĀ 6PR MorningsĀ Victoria may have to support a new host for the 2026 Games, if one is found.

“The clearly have contractual terms, and they clearly will have to go through a detailed negotiation around the contract process,” Professor Brooks said.
