Gareth Parker: ‘Massive disruption’ for just three separate school cases

Isolation requirements for close contacts of West Australians who contract COVID-19 must be changed after a third school became the latest with an infectious case.

Corpus Christi College and Harrisdale Senior High School all recorded positive cases yesterday while every teacher at Winterfold Primary School in Beaconsfield is also in quarantine, after a fellow teacher tested positive days after an all-staff professional development day on Friday.

Gareth Parker says the WA government should fall into line with the policy of other states across Australia, after having months to consider its options over summer.

“Hundreds of teachers and students wake up today and they won’t be in class, they’ll be isolating at home, as well as many of their family members for the next 14 days,” Parker told his 6PR Breakfast listeners.

“This is after three COVID cases in three separate southern suburb schools.”
