Genius Childcare staff quit in droves, forcing closures, accusing the childcare centres of poor management

A mass exodus of staff has forced several childcare centres to remain closed.
Genius Childcare has reportedly had ongoing pay issues and a high turnover of staff.
Perth Today host Simon Beaumont spoke to former Genius Childcare employee Melissa, who said her experience with Genius Childcare has been stressful and traumatic. She claimed she was not being paid for her superannuation.
“I was told by the directors at the centre that not getting paid super was quite common in the childcare industry,” she said.
Simon then spoke to Carolyn Smith, Early Education Director from United Workers Union, who says they are aware of the issue and it is before the courts.
“It’s absolutely heart-breaking that educators who come every day and put their heart and soul into this work. We’re hearing from educators who haven’t been paid for a month,” she said.
