The appearances of 83-year-old actor George Lazenby as a special guest of a national tour of James Bond music continues to rattle the entertainment industry after the Australian was dumped from the final leg in Melbourne.

Entertainment reporter Peter Ford says he’s curious as to why there was no backlash against Lazenby’s appearances in Adelaide and Sydney, after the actor apologised for any offence caused at his Perth appearance on Saturday night.

Audience members at the Perth Concert Hall first raised issues with his interview on stage on The Catch Up with Mark Gibson on Sunday.

“I guess what he’s saying is, the producers must’ve known what they were getting when they hired me,” Ford told Gareth Parker on 6PR Breakfast.

“What was different about Saturday night? Are the Perth audiences too sensitive or was there something about the delivery and content that was different?”
