‘Get your houses in order’: Master Builders urge parties to put politics aside
The Federal Liberal Party have come out strong in response to Labor’s divisive budget, declaring they will take “decisive action” and free up 150,000 homes within three years.
Master Builders Australia has welcomed Peter Dutton’s budget reply, saying it acknowledged “the critical importance of addressing housing supply challenges”.

Yet Master Builders CEO Denita Wawn told Gary Adshead on 6PR Mornings the Opposition still needs to express caution in immigration policy, and “do it in a way that doesn’t curtail the economy”.
“If we’re going to build more homes, given the significant tradie shortage, we need to rely on migration to fill that gap to build the 1.2 million homes to meet population demand,” Ms Wawn said.
